# Merged mining

Merged mining allows for the simultaneous mining of multiple cryptocurrencies without compromising the efficiency of the mining process. As the Argon2 hashing algorithm searches for the XEN11 hash, it also concurrently searches for additional hashes like X.BLK and XUNI.

### Superblocks (X.BLK)

Superblocks operate on a principle similar to XEN11, with the key difference being that your hash string must contain 65 or more uppercase letters within a total of 136 characters. To find a Superblock, at least 65 characters need to be in capital letters. The difficulty of discovering Superblocks is approximately 1 in 1000 compared to the frequency of finding XenBlocks.

```
### XUNI
The miner constantly searches for XUNI, but they can only be discovered during a specific time window at the top of every hour, from x:55 to x:05.
## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.
Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:
```
GET https://docs.xenblocks.io/technicals/hashing/merged-mining.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```
`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
